QUARTER HORSE Tried and true, the Quarter Horse has been one of Austin Surfboards' go-to designs for nearly every condition. Think of it as your fish’s performance-driven cousin—ready to take on more without sacrificing the fun. It features the same flat, curvy deck, soft rails, and a smooth flat entry to single concave to deep double under your back foot. For a more cruisey ride, the twin fin setup is the way to go. Opaque Peanut Butter bottom and Acetone Dyed Deck, sanded finish to keep it as light as possible. This surfboad is shaped by Drew Austin of "Austin Surfboards" and glassed at "Kings Glassing" in Middle Village, NYC. Raised on the island of Maui, Drew Austin first took up surfing at the age of 3. Being pushed into waves at the local long boarding spot by his older brother and now primary glasser Aaron Austin. Throughout Drew’s life he has chased his obsession of surfing by living in some of surfings most coveted areas: Maui, Hawai’i, and Santa Barbara, California. Growing up in Maui meant being a short boarder as Maui is known for its HIGH performance surfing. Santa Barbara is where Drew realized the different styles and avenues surfing could go and started down an alternative path of board building. Drew has learned from the best including Alex Lopez, Josh Peterson, Ryan Burch, and Tristan Mausse. Now based in Brooklyn New York and work with Kings Glassing to hand shape highest quality progressive alternative shaped surfboards.
